GRAND FINALISTS ANNOUNCED COOPERS GOLDEN SADDLE
AWARD
Grand Finalists for the COOPERS GOLDEN SADDLE AWARD
2003 have been announced by the Rotary Club of Galston. Their
decision is
BILLY BRIDGE Laverton Vic
MARK TEMPANY Sunnybank South Qld
PETER PRATT Illabo NSW
Finalists for this year were Billy Bridge, Sweeney-Killeen,
Gemma Doyle, Tony McKenna, Nathan Charlton, Peter Pratt, Mark
Tempany, Michael Bryers, Travis Sinclair, Tracey Vaughan and Brooke
Leal. Donna Boyd was also nominated, but had to decline because
of her commitment to the Frank Ifield International Spur Award.
Festival Organiser Vikki Page felt that once again
Rotary had chosen three Grand Finalists from an incredible line
up of talent. "The decision is taking longer and longer to
agree on" Vikki said "And I know that this year's Grand
Finalists will once again make the Cooper's Golden Saddle Award
an exciting, Premier Event when the three Artists concerned perform
on Sunday 14th September".
Presenting this year's Award will be Country Music
Legend LUCKY STARR. "It will be wonderful to have
Lucky at our Festival to present the award for the first time
and to hear this Country Music Icon sing some songs for his Fans
as our Special Guest" said Awards Director Helen Kay".
" It will be a day not to be missed by all Country Music
Fans".
Billy, Mark and Peter will all be coming to
Sydney to perform at the GALSTON COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL
held at the beautiful FAGAN PARK in Galston on Sunday 14th
September 2003. Grand Finalists will be competing for the
$5,000 worth of prizes which includes recording time and cash
and all three will receive an exquisite hand-made GOLDEN SADDLE,
Performance Fee and Certificate.
Previous winners have been Double-Decker Dave, Michael
King, Dave Debs, Colin Greatorix and Tracey Faith.
Double-Decker Dave will return this year as
an Invited Guest to perform at the Festival in September, which
was part of his win in 2002.
The Rotary Club of Galston would like to once again
congratulate all the Finalists who after-all, could not nominate
themself for this award. Their talent proves once again that there
is great strength in all areas of the Country Music Industry here
in Australia, which is most inspiring.
All Finalists will receive a "Keepsake" in due
course from the Festival to celebrate their nomination Australia
Wide.

The COOPERS GOLDEN SADDLE AWARD in association
with the Galston Country Music Festival and the Rotary
Club of Galston, take great pleasure in announcing the FINALISTS

Previous Winners of the Coopers Golden Saddle have
been Double-Decker Dave, Michael King, Dave Debs, Colin Greatorix
and Tracey Faith. Three Grand-Finalists will be invited
to perform at this Years Festival to be held on the 14th September
2003 at Fagan Park in Sydney. All will be competing for the
price package worth in total around five thousand dollars which
includes a recording and publicity package, cash and a beautiful
hand-made Golden Saddle. Runners-up will also receive cash,
a certificate and a beautiful hand-made Golden Saddle to honour
their place as Runners-up.
The GRAND-FINALISTS will be announced in June
and all Finalists will receive a Momento in due course to
celebrate their nomination.
On behalf of the Rotary Club of Galston and the Galston Country
Music Festival, we would like to once again congratulate the Finalists.
Please note that Donna Boyd although nominated is
unable to enter the next stage of judging because of her commitment
to Frank Ifield's International Spur Award. As she was nominated,
The Galston Country Music Festival Committee would like to extend
to her the Festival's congratulations and recognition of her nomination
in this prestigious event.
