Galston Country
Music Festival 2002
Wallis and Matilda
At the height of the renewed
interest in Australian Bush Music in the early 1980's Wallis and
Matilda sprang to prominence with four albums of superb musical
evocations of A.B. Patterson's Poetry; including
'Pioneers' and 'The Old Australian Ways'.
The most successful of these
tracks "Clancy of the Overflow" became a national top
10 hit and saw the expanded band take their place with The Bushwackers,
The Bullamakankas and Redgum as the most influential of Bush revivalists
of the period.
This is their first appearance
at Galston.
