PRESS RELEASE

AMBER LAWRENCE WINS THE COOPER'S GOLDEN SADDLE AWARD- Sunday September 10th 2006

The Winner of the Cooper's Golden Saddle Award for 2006 is Sydney based Artist AMBER LAWRENCE.

Due to inclement weather the Galston Country Music Festival was moved to the Galston Club where supported by a capacity crowd all three Grand finalists Sweeney/Killeen, Karen Lynne and Amber Lawrence gave a stunning performance. In a very close call it was decided that this year's winner was to be the very talented up and coming artist Amber Lawrence. Amber is the first female to win since Tracey Faith won the very first award nine years ago and it was also the first time that all three Grand Finalists were represented by "the girls"

Amber received a Cash Prize and Certificate courtesy of the Rotary club of Galston, a Voucher courtesy of Ramrod Recording Studios, Publicity courtesy of our sponsors The Independent Country Music Bulletin and a Golden Saddle courtesy of Cooper's Brewery and the Galston Country Music Festival. Amber will also be invited back to the festival as a very special guest in 2007.

Sweeney/Killeen (aka Nikki Sweeney and Tracey Lee Killeen) and Karen Lynne received a Performance Fee, Certificate and a Golden Saddle and were congratulated on being part of such a wonderful Grand final this year.

Amber joins the prestigious list of winners which include Darren Colston, Rob Wilson, Mark Tempany, Double Decker Dave, Michael King, Dave Debs, Colin Greatorix and Tracey Faith.

The Rotary Club of Galston would like to thank our Judges for this year Tony Brentnall (Cooper's Brewery), Lester V Coombs (Captain Cook Cruises), John Rowles (International Recording Artist) and Bob Kirchner (Independent Country Music Bulletin).

A final thanks, to our very special Guest Presenter, KEVIN JOHNSON.
