Carol Lights
Words & Music: Geoff Drummond
Geoff's wonderful hopeful
Christmas Song written after an Adelaide Carols in The Park Event
a few years ago. Children give us all a chance to recapture something
of the innocence and hope that we often lose as we grow older.
It was a wise person who once said, "We teach children all
about life while, if we are watching, they teach us what Life
is all about."
Candles burn under Southern
Cross
Shadows cast on park land green
Voices stumble verses lost
In half remembered childhood dreams
Faces lined in concentration
Scan the printed program well
Hum a line in anticipation
Join the carol chorus swell
Chorus: Come ye all and join
the faithfull
Cast away the years you have worn
Wrap the night around your candle
Leave your sorrow sleep till dawn
Children wander in wide eyed wonder
Pyjama top and Teddy Bear
Coloured lighting Brass Band thunder
Harmonise in Christmas prayer
Glasses kiss the toast is made
Foes forgotten friends made new
Pass the cup and drink the laughter
try to hold it all year through
Chorus: Come ye all and join the faithfull
Cast away the years you have worn
Wrap the night around your candle
Leave your sorrow sleep till dawn
Choir sings an angels message
Peace on earth goodwill to men
If History writes itself in circles
Miracles must come again
Chorus: Come ye all and join the faithfull
Cast away the years you have worn
Wrap the night around your candle
Leave your sorrow sleep till dawn
Wrap the night around your candle
Leave your sorrow sleep till dawn
If History writes itself in circles
Miracles await to be born
